NOVEMBER 2025 - MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Gratitude in Motion: Thankful for Our Supply Chain Community
As we move into November, it feels like the perfect time to pause and reflect on what we’re thankful for, both personally and professionally. In the world of supply chain, gratitude takes on a unique meaning. Every day, behind the scenes, thousands of professionals keep materials flowing, products moving, and communities supplied. It’s easy to get caught up in the challenges, but this season reminds us to appreciate the people and progress that make it all possible.
This month, I want to share a few things we at ASCM Houston are especially thankful for:
At ASCM Houston, we’re thankful for the people: the planners balancing demand and supply, the buyers negotiating with care, the warehouse and plant teams keeping operations safe and steady, and the drivers who literally keep things moving. We’re grateful for leaders who guide teams through constant change, and educators and mentors who invest in the next generation of supply chain talent. It’s their dedication, problem-solving, and teamwork that keep our world running smoothly, often without recognition, but never without impact.
We’re also thankful for collaboration, the heartbeat of every successful supply chain. It’s what turns challenges into opportunities, allowing suppliers, manufacturers, and logistics partners to find creative solutions together. And we’re grateful for innovation and technology, from predictive analytics and automation to AI and digital twins, that help us work smarter, respond faster, and make better, data-driven decisions. These advancements continue to transform our field and make our networks more resilient every day.
We’re thankful for education and certification, from CPIM and CSCP to CLTD and the new certificate programs that keep professionals growing and future-ready. For resilience, the mindset that turns lessons learned into stronger systems. For sustainability, which reminds us that our work can (and should) create a better world.
And most of all, we’re thankful for our ASCM Houston community: members, volunteers, instructors, and students who make this chapter a place to connect, learn, and lead.
As we close out 2025, I invite you to take a moment to appreciate how much your work contributes, not just to business results, but to people’s daily lives. Together, we keep supply chains moving, resilient, and ready for the future.

Board Member Spotlight
This month, we’re especially thankful for Johanna Peralez, our VP of Programs & Events. Johanna is the driving force behind every ASCM Houston event, plant tour, and professional development meeting we host. Her leadership, organization, and enthusiasm bring our programs to life and create the learning and networking experiences our members look forward to all year long.
A dedicated ASCM Houston member for more than six years and a board leader for the past two, Johanna brings deep supply chain expertise to our chapter. She currently serves as Supply Chain Manager for the Managed Pressure Wells Center of Excellence at Weatherford, where she applies her passion for process improvement, collaboration, and operational excellence every day.
Johanna’s commitment to professional growth and continuous learning embodies the spirit of ASCM Houston. We’re grateful for her leadership, her energy, and the countless hours she dedicates to helping our community connect, learn, and thrive.
