President's Messages

MARCH 2026 - MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Mar. 5, 2026

March is a season of renewal. Across Houston and the Gulf Coast, we see momentum everywhere, expanding port capacity, evolving energy strategies, advanced manufacturing investments, and increasing digital integration across our supply chains.

Growth is happening.

The question is: are we growing with it?

In supply chain, resilience doesn’t happen by accident. It is built intentionally through collaboration, adaptability, and leadership. The same is true for our professional development. Leadership is not just a title; it is practice. And one of the most powerful ways to practice leadership is by serving locally. ASCM Houston will kick off its 2026-2027 election campaign very soon.

If you have ever considered expanding your impact, this is your opportunity to step into chapter leadership. Volunteering with ASCM Houston is more than supporting events. It is a leadership laboratory. It is where professionals build executive-level skills outside their day jobs: strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, budgeting, programming, sponsorship development, governance, and cross-functional collaboration.

At the same time, our local community is our competitive advantage. In a world shaped by automation, AI, and global complexity, relationships still matter. Houston’s supply chain ecosystem, from energy and petrochemicals to healthcare, aerospace, ports, and logistics, thrives because professionals invest in one another.

When we volunteer locally, we strengthen:

· University partnerships that develop future talent

· Certification programs that elevate professional standards

· Networking platforms that connect industries

· Workforce pipelines that support Gulf Coast economic growth

Global supply chains depend on local leadership. ASCM may be global, but its impact is activated at the chapter level through people who step forward.

Volunteering does not require a large time commitment. It can mean serving on a committee, mentoring a student, supporting a single event, assisting with technology, or helping welcome new members. For those ready to expand their leadership impact, serving on the Executive Board offers a strategic opportunity to shape the chapter’s direction, influence programming, strengthen industry partnerships, and contribute to the long-term growth of ASCM Houston. Every contribution, whether behind the scenes or at the board level, builds both the individual and the community.

Spring is a season of intentional growth. If ASCM Houston has supported your development, this may be the moment to invest back, not only in the organization, but in your own leadership journey. Strong supply chains are built by strong professionals. Strong professionals are built through service and collaboration.

Let’s grow together.
